The Company:

In 1991, brothers Troy and Torrey Lautenbach started a small company in Bellingham, Washington to recycle construction waste. 30 years later, Lautenbach Recycling is one of the region’s premier employers and the largest family-owned recycling company in Washington State. Job Summary

We are searching for the right person to join as NWR Container Delivery Driver. We are looking for drivers who are ready to provide the outstanding customer service we have worked to be known for while maintaining high safety standards and DOT compliance. Self-motivated and flexible problem-solvers will excel in this position. While we prefer experience with container delivery, we are willing to train the right person. This is a physically strenuous position and drivers are required to be able to mount and dismount trucks many times each day, climb trailer ladders, lift 50 - 75 pounds and engage in pushing, pulling and bending throughout the day.

This is a full time, hourly position that works Monday – Friday within the times of 4:00am and 4:30pm. Most work weeks will be about 45 hours/week – OT is paid for all hourly over 40 hours worked in the work week. Schedule may fluctuate. All local trucking in the State of Washington within the counties of Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, King, San Juan, and Island. Pay rate is $27 - $29 per hour, as eligible, for Safety/Compliance Bonus.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving and operating a 35ft straight truck (w/trailer if needed) and tractor trailer 40ft to 53ft
  • Operate hydraulic tilt deck and rollback flat beds
  • Trucking heavy haul loads
  • Forklifting loads on and off of truck and trailer
  • Perform necessary pre-trip inspections on vehicles
  • Perform minor maintenance, adjustments and cleaning of vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain daily paperwork and appropriate logs
  • Manage and maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations such as lock-out tag-out, safety data sheets, job hazard analysis and hazardous materials program.
  • Adhere to all federal, state and local traffic laws while driving
  • Perform other duties around business as assigned

Minimum Driver Qualifications:

Because of Lautenbach Recycling's commitment to safety, the company has developed the following requirements for applicants:


  • 1 or fewer chargeable or preventable motor vehicle accidents within the past 3 years
  • 2 or fewer violations of motor vehicle laws (other than violations involving parking only) within the past 3 years
  • Applicants convicted of an offense involving the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol can be considered only if they have had no similar incidents within the past 5 years.
  • Zero careless or reckless driving of a motor vehicle offense within the past 3 years.
  • Zero criminal offenses involving a commercial vehicle, including operating while under the influence of a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance, or a felony involving the use of a commercial motor vehicle

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience
  • Ability to work overtime as permitted
  • Must possess a valid Class A CDL License and current Medical Card
  • Must have experience operating flatbed and or landoll
  • Must have good communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to operate a forklift, preferable up to 30k capacity
  • Experience operating loaders and excavators
  • Must be able to lift 50 - 75 lbs
  • Must have the physical ability to drive a truck for long periods of time as well as get in and out of the truck frequently
  • Physically capable and trained to tie down loads properly
  • Must have a clean and orderly work ethic
  • Must be motivated to work and follow directions
  • Must have a positive and professional attitude and work with integrity

The Location:

We are located in Bellingham in beautiful Whatcom County. The site is a fully operational metal recycling center which has frequent traffic, dust and noise.
