Patient Care Associate (CNA), Inpatient Psych, Full-Time, Day/Night Rotation

Blake 11 is a twenty-four bed locked psychiatric unit. The unit serves adults ages 18 and older. The inpatient service provides acute psychiatric care, diagnostic evaluations and brief inpatient treatment. As a tertiary health care provider, Blake 11 accepts patients with diagnostically complex or treatment resistant disorders as well as patients with concomitant medical disease. Patients may be admitted to the unit 24 hours a day, seven days a week.The average length of stay is 7-10 days.
Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.
Shift:
- 36-40 hours, Rotation;
- Day (7a-3pm, 7a-7pm) and Nights, (7pm-7am,11pm-7am);
- (3) weekend shifts per month;
- Salary differential for Evening, Nights and Weekends

- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or EMT at time of hire OR
- Enrolled in a certification program to become a Nursing Assistant or EMT at time of hire OR
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Enrolled in a nursing or pre-med undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations complete at time of hire OR
- Successful completion of the Laboure College PCT program
