The Nurse Educator will assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate comprehensive education programs to meet the orientation and ongoing competency needs and professional development needs of the clinical teams which supports professional nursing practice and clinical excellence at Self Regional Healthcare. This position will collect and assess data and information related to education needs to determine programmatic needs for the organization.

In collaboration with Nursing Leadership will plan, develop and evaluate the preceptor program to enhance the orientation process and the retention of staff. Will provide leadership to preceptors and serves as a role model through educational programs and ongoing coaching and mentoring. Serves as a facilitator in Nurse Residency and PCT training programs and actively mentors and supports their growth in the profession and clinical practice. Utilizes American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation/South Carolina Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval Program
(ANCC-COA/SC CEAP) criteria to assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate continuing nursing education activities which qualify for continuing education credit.

Assists in development of clinical policies and procedures as requested. Provides guidance, resources and knowledge for professional growth of others. Serves as instructor, mentor and role model for current and prospective nurses at SRH.

Qualifications: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN). Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in SC. Minimum of 5 years recent clinical experience with two years in area of specialization preferred. Demonstrate clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in specialty area with previous education experience. Certification in area of specialty preferred. Must possess organization, planning, problem solving, and demonstrated teaching skills. Must have strong oral and written communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills.
