NEST Sitter Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Exceed guest and companion expectations by accommodation of needs and wants.
• Create a safe, fun, and enriching experience for our pets and their owners.
• Provide compassionate care to playcare, grooming and overnight guests.
• Feed, water, bathe and exercise pets according to schedules. This could include walking, administering treats, sharing a bedtime story, performing one-on-one training or enrichment with an animal, etc.
• Monitor animal behavior and have an ability to notice abnormal behavior and signs of illness in all species of animals and report this information as directed.
• Clean and disinfect nests and nestominums, litter boxes and play areas according to retreat protocol.
• Clean and disinfect exotic pet enclosures according to owner provided directions
• Assist in cleaning responsibilities throughout the retreat including picking up feces, urine and vomit, disinfecting all guest areas, cleaning client areas, attending to rest rooms and staff areas, laundering soiled bedding, blankets and towels, etc.
• Administer medications to guests according to schedule and medical recording as appropriate.
• Supervise and monitor play groups and participate in enrichment activities and ensure all guests are exhibiting appropriate behavior.
• Facilitate meet and greets of new canine guests into group play activities.
• Maintain accurate records to communicate any and all needs, activities, and behaviors of guests.
• Learn and understand how to regularly engage with, handle, and monitor animals appropriately.
• Assist in moving guests safely to and from nests and play areas or other areas of the retreat as appropriate.
• Properly track and maintain inventory of guest belongings during their stays.
• Handle basic bathing and grooming tasks
• Follow daily cleaning and duties checklists
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Mornings, afternoons, evenings
• Unique overnight opportunities available as well.
