Here are the positions available:

  • Pet Sitter available Monday-Friday for at least two hours anytime 7-11am
  • Pet Sitter available 3-5 days a week Monday to Friday between 7am-12pm
  • Pet Sitter available 3-5 days a week Monday to Friday between 8am-1pm
  • Pet Sitter available 3-5 days a week Monday to Friday between 9am-2pm
  • Pet Sitter available 3-5 days a week Monday to Friday between 10am-3pm

What does my schedule look like?

  • This position is a flexible part time job. Your schedule will vary based on the needs of our clients.
  • You will be scheduled to work a minimum of 5 hours per week and up to 15 hours per week. (If you need more hours, please apply to the Professional Pet Care Provider position)
  • Every day is different and you will develop amazing relationships with so many cats, dogs, and their owners.
  • Depending on your availability, you may have recurring walks for clients you see every day or travel clients you only see once a month.
  • Shifts can be as short as one hour or as long as 5 hours.

How Much Can I Make?

Depending on your availability and client need, you will make a minimum of $15.50-$17/hr while filling your cat and kitten-cuddling needs each week! We are always looking for people that want to get in the pet care industry full time and are passionate about growing with our business. Our staff say that this is the "best job ever" and you are getting paid to do something you LOVE!

  • You are paid a very competitive pay (depends on experience) paid weekly. Training is paid at your hourly cat sitting rate. Once you have finished training, we pay you by the service. The starting pay ranges from $15.50-$17/hour + mileage reimbursement + cell phone stipend + 100% tips. The more paid professional pet sitting experience you have, the higher your starting pay.
  • This is an employee position and NOT an independent contractor position so taxes are withheld.
  • You can make extra money if you are willing to provide dog sitting services in the early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.

What are some of the basic job requirements?

  • Must love all dogs and cats
  • Must have your own car with a valid driver's license and automobile insurance
  • We assign visits within 5 miles of our staff's home so employees must live within 15 minutes of our main service area (Waltham, Belmont, Watertown)
  • Must provide 4 relevant references (3 professional and 1 personal)
  • Dog walking staff must commit to always being available for last minute walks (unless sick or previously requested off) during their agreed upon hours
  • Occasional evening hours or weekends for client interviews may be necessary
  • Clean criminal background and clean driving records (criminal/background check required)
  • Be comfortable walking both big and small dogs for a mile or more
  • Be comfortable driving and providing dog walking services in all New England weather (i.e., rain, wind, sleet or snow) for 15 minutes up to an hour at a time and up to 6 miles per day
  • Be comfortable feeding, scooping litter, and playing with cats
  • Be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Be able to quickly and efficiently respond to all inquiries from our team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills since you will be communicating directly with clients and the Pet Care Manager
  • Must be extremely organized, dependable, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude
  • Follow a schedule provided by the Pet Care Manager
  • Give all pets your undivided attention and love during your assigned visit
  • Provide pick up and drop off services to dogs from and to their homes for individual dog hikes
  • Provide solo dog walks for private on-leash neighborhood walks
  • Provide group dog walks for on-leash neighborhood walks
  • Maintain control and ensure the safety of all of the animals under your watch
  • Maintain security of our clients' homes during your assigned visit
  • Pick up and properly dispose of all pet waste of the pets in your care
  • Provide a daily note in our scheduling app with a photo following each visit to confirm services and to update the owner and Pawsitive Dawg of your visit
