The Education, Career, and Enrichment department at CASES specializes in serving youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system. The Education and Career Services team at CASES is looking for a Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Work Site Monitor. CASES provides clients with an opportunity to have a 6-week paid work experience during the summer, and the SYEP Worksite Monitor will support this work from June through August. This position will require a considerable amount of travel within NYC via MTA. This position entails a 20-hour weekly commitment. Carfare and an agency cell phone are provided for the duration of the employment. Due to the nature of SYEP, a Worksite Monitor must commit to working a total of 20 hours per week from June through August. The position is scheduled to begin in June.

We believe that in-person operations are the best way to serve our clients, both directly and indirectly through essential operational support.

Requirements: Willingness to travel on subway to multiple sites per day. Must be available to work until 7pm on Tuesdays.

Job Description


Essential Duties:

June

  • Work with team to develop worksites and secure required worksite documentation

  • Secure worksite applications and all supporting documentation to be submitted to the program supervisor

  • Provide prompt communication with stakeholders, including parents, referral partners, and employers

  • Assist with SYEP youth orientations and track and manage Hats and Ladders curriculum for youth applicants

  • Ensure proper program enrollment and worksite placement for youth

  • Visit worksites to conduct pre-assessments

  • Maintain appropriate documentation for DYCD audits

July - August

  • Support Program Supervisor with the maintenance of weekly timesheet collection, worksite monitoring with weekly assessments, and troubleshooting any workplace issues

  • Maintain communication with stakeholders, including referral partners, parents, and employers

  • Comply with all documentation requirements promptly

  • Maintain appropriate documentation for DYCD audits

Secondary Duties:

  • Attend team meetings as assigned by the ECS Supervisor of Work Experiences.

  • Perform other duties as required by the ECS Supervisor of Work Experiences and the ECS Director.


Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask;

  • Experience in customer service;

  • Experience with SYEP strongly preferred;

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; and proficient in use of Google Docs;

  • Experience working with youth and families;

  • Comfort with traveling throughout the city in the summer via public transportation.

  • Ability to apply youth development principles and commitment to work from a strengths-based perspective;
