Responsibilities:
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs routine and special laboratory procedures; quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation. Participates in the Performance Improvement and Assurance process. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all necessary functions and maintains documentation to ensure timely, accurate results of laboratory procedures
  • Ensure specimens are obtained and processed in accordance with laboratory guidelines to provide accurate results
  • Demonstrate proper communication skills to ensure positive outcomes
  • Supports organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills to support positive outcomes
Qualifications:
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a Chemical, Physical or Biological Science from an accredited institution or Baccalaureate degree with 16 hours in Biological Science, 16 hours in Chemistry and 3 hours in Mathematics, in lieu of degree, medical technology certification (HEW or CLA) under "grandfather" clause.
  • Licensed by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent as a Medical Technologist. Registered by the ASCP within 6 months of employment into this position.
OR
  • Associate's Degree in Medical Technology
  • Licensed by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent as a Medical Technologist. Registered by the ASCP within 12 months of employment into this position.
