The Lane at Ivy City is a play space and event venue. We are seeking energetic, motivated, and fun-loving individuals to join our team. Our guest experience team members are the heart and soul of The Lane - responsible for making it a happy place for everyone who visits. We are looking for individuals excited to jump into a fast-paced, dynamic, high-energy environment. We love people who bring their own personality to deliver a unique spin on a fantastic branded experience.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team for a highly anticipated business that has received significant attention and interest from the DC community. It will be a multi-faceted role including reception check-in, play oversight, activity execution and coordination, and customer service. This person should love people (especially kids), facilitating activities, and most importantly be excited to bring fun to DC’s families.

Guest Relations/Reception

● Set the tone for the guest experience - bright, approachable, and friendly.

● Welcome and check in guests as soon as they arrive

● Pitch and sell club memberships.

● Advise guests on the play space and rules.

● Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls.

o Use gmail to respond to emails about Open Play, Rescheduling, and general questions.

● When guests inquire about Events, record and email the Events Department with guests’ information.

o Assist customers with filling in their information for Events on the website using the iPad.

● Provide basic and accurate information about services in-person and via phone/email.

● Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary signage and materials.

o Marketing flier; Ipads on Waiver page and charged, laptops open.

● Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries.

● Maintain security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.

● Perform other clerical receptionist duties as needed.

● Knowledgeable of all offerings at The Lane, able to answer guest questions clearly and to sell services.

Floor Staff

● Passionate and dedicated to serving children, families and guests.

● Provides exceptional and positive customer service when interacting with Parents and Guardians.

● Exemplifies good work habits and maintains a positive attitude; friendly, warm, and attentive.

● Creates and maintains an inviting and safe play environment.

● Acts in the best interest of the children and families.

● Fosters Teamwork, is friendly and respectful to other Team Members and management.

● Follows cleaning duty processes and tasks as defined in Cleaning Checklists.

● Ensures all play objects are in their respective places and resets all play stations regularly.

● Participates in Playgroup, Drop Off Care, and Camp programs.

o Keeps children engaged with interactive and structured activities and crafts.

o Reinforces positive play and behavior and uses positive discipline techniques.

o Shares information and concerns with leadership regarding children when needed.

o Involves parents with center activities as appropriate and available.

● Assists in other job roles, as needed by Team Members or management.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.10 - $27.00 per hour
