Role: Responsible for promoting a positive image of the Credit Union and for opening and maintaining all types of deposit accounts in a timely and professional manner. Responsible for answering phone calls utilizing proper etiquette. Engage with the members and proactively identify ways to maximize their Credit Union experience and cross-sell the Credit Union products and services. Responsible for processing members' transactions initiated by phone or in person, and other miscellaneous member requests efficiently, accurately and at a high level of member service. Also accountable for performing administrative office duties for the President/CEO, Member Service Supervisor and Head Teller.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

o Follow all Credit Union policies and procedures for member identification and all regulation requirements.

o Providing members with excellent service in person and by phone, general and specific deposit account information, and other related Credit Union services and products in a friendly and timely manner.

o Open deposit accounts and service existing accounts such as savings, checking, share certificates, IRA’s and trusts.

o Reviews and resolves credit and debit card related issues, concerns, requests, problems, and complaints received from members.

o Responsible for the proper handling of death of member claims.

o Cross-sell and advise members of the products and services that would best suit their needs.

o Respond to members' requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance while maintaining excellent standards of member service.

o Perform a variety of clerical duties, which require knowledge of departmental procedures.

o Maintain proper security of all negotiable items.

o To adhere to all policies and procedures and abide by all federal, state, and local laws.

o Ability to learn and utilize new technology including new technology, software upgrades, and equipment.

o Cover as back-up Teller as needed.

o Other duties as assigned.

o To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.

o To behave in a positive manner, assist co‑workers as needed in a friendly, courteous, and respectful manner, and avoid

negative behaviors.

o To comply with all credit union policies and procedures including reporting to work on time and avoiding unnecessary absences and to take pride and be accountable for quality of work.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience Minimum of one year financial institution or an acceptable equivalent of similar or related experience.

Education A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills, team player and enthusiasm to quickly learn additional tasks that may be assigned. High level of accuracy, member service and strong attention to detail. Ability to remain calm and project a positive, friendly, professional image while dealing with difficult members.

Other Skills Must possess strong problem solving, analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to use a personal computer and related software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and Email. Multi-line phone system, 10‑key calculator and keyboard skills.

Other Requirements Occasional travel for out of town conferences and trainings. Be eligible without question for bond coverage.

Physical Requirements Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time while working on a computer. Some filing is required; this would require the ability to lift files, open file cabinets and bending, climbing stairs or standing on a stool as necessary. Occasional lifting of heavy coin and other monetary items is required.

Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:45am-5pm.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
