Speech Pathology and Educational Center, Inc. (SPEC) is seeking for a Medical Office Scheduler/Receptionist and would like to tell you about an exciting opportunity with our well-established and highly regarded company.

The Company:

SPEC specializes in providing pediatric therapy services at its center in West-Miami-Dade and various schools throughout Miami-Dade County.

The Position:

We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Scheduler Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will work at the front desk of our office and assist our patients and other visitors. Your primary job duties will include greeting and checking in patients, answering questions, collecting patient co-pays, processing paperwork, and scheduling appointments. You will also help keep our records and work areas clean and organized, as well as ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients.

Some Medical Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and other visitors when they arrive
  • Check-in patients when they arrive
  • Answer questions and provide assistance when necessary
  • Schedule appointments
  • Update patient's tracker
  • Enter data to the patient's chart using our EMR system
  • Collect co-pays
  • Field phone calls and respond to emails
  • Manage inventory of necessary office supplies and coordinate reordering
  • You will contact patients and provide updates on appointmens information, authorizations and financial responsibility.
  • Open/close office

Medical Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bilingual
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience working as scheduler/receptionist or in a relevant role
  • Familiar with medical and insurance terminology
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
