POSITION SUMMARY

The Certified Medical Records Coder is responsible for carrying out the activities of the Health Information Services Department in the maintenance of all patient health information. Applies the appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes to individual patient health information for data retrieval and analysis and claims processing. Provides departmental coverage in H.I.M. Director's absence.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Associate’s Degree from an institution accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) or successful completion of a coding certificate program.

Experience: At least 1 year of previous experience in health information management and direct experience in a health care psychiatric facility. Work experience as a coder or strong training background in coding and reimbursement preferred.

Licensure/Certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC or CPC-HP.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
