Medical Receptionist Job at Total Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Total Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is a multi-office provider of musculoskeletal care. We are searching for a full time front desk receptionist for our Syosset location. Shift hours are from 930AM-6:00PM or 11:30AM-8:00PM. This individual should be friendly and out going and shares the same drive we do for patient satisfaction. Candidate should be available on weekends.
Job Description:
- Meets and greets patients; announces, directs and escorts to appropriate area.
- Inputs patient information and demographics into computer system.
- Checking patient’s in/out
- Checking patient insurance eligibility
- Answers, screens and direct calls to the appropriate areas.
- Schedules patient appointments
- Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing and mailing as required.
- Keeps reception area organized.
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Performs other related duties assigned by senior management.
Requirements:
- Experience in a medical office
- Knowledge of insurance companies, No Fault and Workers' Compensation
- Knowledge of EHR
- Organization and Communication Skills
- Knowledge of orthopedic spine terminology a plus
