Heart Center of North Texas is looking for a dependable, detail oriented person to join our Patient Intake and Scheduling team! We are hiring for our Fort Worth location, but some travel to other offices may be required. An ideal candidate will be willing to travel between sites as needed. NextGen experience is preferred, but not necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: including the following. Other duties as assigned.

Greet all patients in a friendly and caring manor, verifying all demographics and insurance information is correct.

  • Ensures necessary paperwork is completed on all appointments including: copy of insurance card, driver’s license, new paperwork, consent forms, and etc.
  • Receives encounter form documenting patient visit and computes amount due from patient including outstanding balances.
  • Records amount of money received and prepares reports of transactions.
  • Acquires signature on payment arrangement when prior arrangements have been made with the patient.
  • Posts charges using correct diagnosis codes ensuring all codes support the service or diagnostic study.
  • Ensures the precert or referral for visit has been obtained.
  • Informs patient of follow up appointment and/or test results.
  • Ensures the precert for any future diagnostic testing is sent for approval.
  • Ensures required information is sent to verification department for diagnostic and/or procedure.
  • Verifies demographic and insurance information are correct prior to posting charges.
  • Answers telephone calls from other doctor’s offices or patients in a friendly and helpful manor.
  • Corrects and faxes dictation to primary doctors when needed.
  • Calls patients on “No Show” appointments and reschedules.
  • Maintains confidentiality while working with patient’s insurance companies on a daily basis
  • Must have good working knowledge of all other office duties

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
