Medical Receptionist Job at AFC URGENT CARE
Responsibilities & Duties
- Greet patients with great customer service
- Answer phone calls and patient questions in a friendly and helpful tone
- Provide patients with initial paperwork and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards
- Register patients, update patient records, and verify insurance accurately and timely
- Follow company procedures related to workers’ compensation and occupational medicine patients
- Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues
- Discharge patients accurately and timely by collecting balances, providing patient documentation, and following discharge procedures
- Assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests
- Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports
- Willing to be cross-trained and perform other duties for other roles in the clinic such as a medical assistant
- Perform opening and closing procedures and duties
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Knowledge of Experity EMR preferred
- Weekday, Weekend and Holiday work availability
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and frequently required to walk for long periods of time
- Potential exposure to potentially infectious materials and chemicals
