The Medical Imaging Manager in Nampa:

  • Assumes direct responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising the department. This is inclusive of assisting the regional director in financial responsibility, departmental performance, performance management, and quality improvement programs.

  • Identifies all customer groups, assesses their needs and coordinates the department to successfully achieve objectives identified.

  • In collaborative efforts with the director, develops and monitors policies/procedures and program development.

  • Serves as the director's designee as assigned and may expect to travel between SAHS sites in Idaho occasionally.

  • Provides on-call coverage as needed.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certification by professional imaging registry or board (i.e., American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) as a registered technologist or sonographer required.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS or as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

  • Five years of experience in radiology or other related healthcare services field plus 2 years of medical imaging leadership experience required.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Interfaces with radiologists, various other physician groups, department directors/managers, and staff, to jointly provide services consistent with hospital mission statement and strategic plan on a daily basis.

  • Participates and contributes toward facility evaluation, program development and equipment acquisition to ensure appropriate capacity for imaging needs of the community.

  • Manages department staff in coordination with the modality managers.

  • Demonstrates leadership qualities by developing performance plans, recommending salary adjustments, and managing hiring, education, motivation and leadership of staff.

  • Identifies and develops continuing education and orientation programs to meet the needs of compliance with regulatory agencies specific within the imaging department.

  • Develops and coordinates the departmental orientation program.

  • Maintains the education and competency records of staff.

  • In coordination with the modality managers, assists in providing input for staff competency evaluation during staff performance appraisals.

  • Working in conjunction with the director and modality managers, maintains department staffing schedule to ensure proper utilization of labor to productivity standards.

  • Understands and trains staff on all departmental specific electronic system functions.

  • Provides on-call coverage as needed.

  • Strong specialty service knowledge appropriate to role.
