Minnesota Oncology, part of the US Oncology, is hiring a full-time dosimetrist to join our team. You will join a team of 3 dosimetrists and 4 physicists in a team-oriented, supportive environment. We firmly believe in the safety culture where every voice is an important one to provide the best quality of care we can to our patients. You will join a radiation oncology practice that has been accredited for the past 7 years.

Responsibilities:


  • Generate radiation therapy treatment plans using computer software and various imaging modalities; demonstrating strong attention to detail.
  • Identify and delineates anatomy and anatomical positioning on various imaging modalities.
  • Identify the need to create compensation filters, custom shields, and other beam modifying devices.
  • Complete treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner based on complexity.
  • Adapt to the ever-changing technology and be open to learning new systems and techniques.
  • Effectively communicate plan details with physicians and staff; able to offer alternative solutions.
  • Consults and communicates to the therapist staff regarding the implementation of the treatment plan including: the correct use of immobilization devices, bolus, compensators, wedges, field arrangement, and other treatment variables.
  • Documents treatment planning and quality assurance tasks accurately.
  • May be asked to perform general computerized tasks, such as word processing, using spreadsheets, moving and altering files and directories, and performing data backup.
  • May assist in HDR brachytherapy treatment planning.
  • Teach applied aspects of medical dosimetry to students and residents, as assigned.
  • Use Eclipse/ARIA including all VMAT and HyperArc for SRS, and Oncentra TPS for HDR planning.
  • Use linear accelerators in our Maplewood Cancer Center location, averaging 70+ patients per day.
  • We utilize Radformation tools such as ClearCheck, EZFluence, ClearCalc, and adding AutoContouring in January 2023.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Credentials as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
  • A current and valid certification as a qualified medical dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)


ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTES:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Dynamic and hard-working.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of current radiation therapy principles, methods, procedures and techniques required.
  • True B eam experience a plus.
