Medical Biller

Link to Communication, LLC, is a growing private speech-language practice. We are looking for a dedicated medical biller with front office skills to join our team and carry out our mission to provide the highest level of care, education, and support to our clients and their families. This candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of claims, follow up on unpaid claims, file appeals when appropriate to maximize reimbursement in an effort to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, speech therapists, and staff. This position requires extensive attention to detail, multi-tasking, and strong communication skills with our speech therapists.

  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Certified Procedure Coder (CPC) required
  • 2+ years of coding experience required
  • Coding auditing experience preferred
  • Experience in CPT and ICD-9 coding
  • Involvement in local AAPC preferred, national AAPC required
  • Strong computer skills
  • Medical billing experience is a must
  • Performs coding activities to assure accurate completion of coding for all client records.
  • Analyzes medical records for completeness of documentation with direct communication to providers for clarifications on any incomplete or conflicting documentation.
  • Keeps current on all coding related regulations, standards, guidelines, industry trends.
  • Educate speech therapists, and other necessary parties on changes to coding standards and regulations and promote proper documentation practices.
  • Interacts and follows up with speech therapists and staff on all communications related to coding, e.g. changes to policies and changes to codes.
  • Investigates and demonstrates the use of problem-solving skills on all denials.
  • Inform staff of the corrective actions needed to reprocess these denied claims.
  • Welcomes clients and family and enjoys interaction with a variety of ages.
  • Develop strong relationships with referral sources and potential referral sources
  • Work with clients and referral sources to build relationships and answer questions.
  • ​​Assist in the overall productivity and organization of the office
  • Open communication with the speech therapists and other team members. Strong understanding of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Flexible and has the ability to multitask and adapt to change
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to accurately handle multiple job duties in this fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize while meeting all deadlines and demonstrating a high level of reliability and efficiency.
  • Team player and willing to take on additional duties.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Computer Skills: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Certified Procedure Coder (CPC) required
  • 2+ years of coding experience required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
