Medical Biller Job at Apex Pediatric Therapy Services
We are looking to fill a medical biller / claims follow up role.
Responsibilities:
- Submit claims to insurance companies
- Check claim status regularly
- Resolves claim edit errors and issues
- Contacts insurance companies, accessing and navigating portals via websites and phones, to research and resolve problems or issues with payments and send required documentation to insurance when needed
- Carry out the denial appeals process to resolve appeals with payers. Provides on-going feedback to Supervisor identifying root causes for denials and appeals.
- Maintains data on the types of claims denied and root causes and make recommendations for improvement and issue resolution.
- Other billing/claims related duties assigned from time to time
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 2 years of prior billing and coding experience
- Must know Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organization, planning and time-management skills
- Skilled in prioritizing multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Niles, IL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
