General: Seeking a candidate for a full time or part-time, from experienced to internship level to fill the posiiton of a medical assistant/ophthalmology tech. For the right candidate, this is an exciting career building opportunity.

Salary: Depending on experience from $12 up.

General Duties: Patient screening, testing, and data entry

Education Requirement: Some college

Work Experience: Some clinic work experience preferred

References via official email: Recent work references confirming punctuality without unscheduled absences; if currently enrolled in college need faculty advisor referral

Licensing: Medical assistant or equivalent certification preferred. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance to drive own vehicle, as needed, to clinics in Opelika, AL and Columbus, GA

General Attitude: Must be a quick learner with leadership skills to assess and perform required tasks with minimal prompting, pleasant demeanor, able to work in a team, demonstrate care for patients, organized

Specific Duties Include, but NOT LIMITED to:

  • Perform patient interviews and vision screening
  • Perform multiple ophthalmology diagnostic tests
  • Enter data into electronic health record
  • Assist with front desk and other office related duties as needed
  • Assist patients and doctor in running the clinic safely and efficiently

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to write and speak professional English with clarity and good enunciation
  • Ability to assist patients from wheelchair to exam chair when safe
  • Dress and appearance must be professional

Job Types: Full-time, Internship

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
