Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Lansing, MI

Job Type: 13-week contract

Start Date: ASAP

Shifts: Day 5x8-Hour (09:00 - 17:30)

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical tasks to support the healthcare team. They work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare settings.

Responsibilities:

· Administer medications as directed by physicians

· Record patient information such as vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints

· Assist physicians during exams and procedures

· Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and equipment for exams and procedures

· Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment

· Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures

· Explain treatment procedures, medications, and diets to patients

· Schedule patient appointments and procedures

· Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, updating patient records, and completing insurance forms

· Maintain medical inventory and supplies

· Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent work experience

· Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Proficiency in computer skills and medical software

· Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment

· Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Certification:

· BLS (AHA)

· Michigan State License

· Covid-19 Vaccination
