  • Sign-on Bonus $2,000 full-time, $1,000 part-time
  • Three levels of MA, I, II, III with higher rates of pay for MA II & III, certification required or 90 days to obtain.

Positions are in all locations: Downriver, (including Taylor, Southgate, Trenton, Wyandotte) Dearborn, Canton, Westland, Livonia, Belleville, Romulus, Royal Oak, Troy, Grosse Pointe, St Clair Shores, Farmington & Farmington Hills, Novi, Southfield, Rochester Hills, West Bloomfield, Oxford, Roseville, Sterling Heights areas and the BMG Float Pool for those that prefer a variety of locations.

General Summary:

Under the direction of management and physician leadership, the Medical Assistant I, II and III will act as an assistant to the physician/provider by providing primary healthcare and patient management.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborates work efforts with the clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
  • Interacts with outside healthcare facilities and agencies involving patient care and insurance.
  • Maintains updated competencies, demonstrating ability to speak to leadership and accreditation bodies about process and workflow.
  • Perform front office duties to provide coverage as needed.
  • Provide coverage in other departments or locations as needed.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, EKG’s, administer injections, blood pressures, navigate Epic One chart electronic health record, and assist with minor surgical procedures.
  • Able to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistant students, practice administration, and patients.
  • Exhibit behavior associated with the Beaumont Standards of service, respect, ownership, and attitude.
  • Performs and is formally assigned one (MA II) or two (MA III) additional responsibilities as part of their primary duties, which should be at least 20% or more of dedicated time:

1. Primary Care gaps in care identification, outreach, and chart preparation
2. Residency clinic role
3. High level disinfection
4. Designated new hire preceptor
5. Role in practice participating in or leading special programs/grants (i.e. CPC Plus, SIM, Vaccine for Child Program, process improvement, service excellence ambassador

6. Care management (PDCMs)
7. Qualified language interpreter
8. Super User for EPIC or specific competency
9. Advanced provider support – assisting with complex procedures and/or infusion/chemo scheduling
10. Float pool assignment Multi-site

Education / Training:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited MA program, including a clinical rotation, or equivalent experience required. (Equivalent experience is minimally 6 months of work experience as a Medical Assistant for MA I, and expanded work experience for MA II & III)

Certification, Licensure, Registration:

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) card from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required prior to hire. MA Certification where needed.
