Odyssey House of Utah is looking for a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our Admissions team!

Job Location: Salt Lake City

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm (with some flexibility to stay later than the scheduled shift when needed).

Main Position Responsibilities (will include, but are not limited to):

  • Check-in new patients and input relevant information into the correct EHR.
  • Recognize and appropriately respond to emergencies.
  • Collect and review incoming medications.
  • Collect vitals.
  • Determine the triage level for the provider.
  • Order and stock medical supplies.
  • Coordinate care during the admissions process.
  • Schedule clients for follow-up care.
  • Triage incoming clients for complex issues and complete the necessary tools (CIWA, PAWSS, COWS, review urine screen) to determine detox needs. Assist clients in connecting with detox services when needed.
  • Assess for and entry of nicotine replacement therapy.
  • Manage lab orders and prescriptions as needed.
  • Complete lab draws and injections.
  • Provide feedback to the care team on potential risks/needs.
  • Help out in other areas of the office as needed.
Requirements:


Licensure / Education / Prior Experience / Skills Required
:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (or experienced Medical Assistant)
  • Willingness and ability to pass a criminal background check
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (available at Odyssey House)
  • Must comply with annual TB tests, COVID, and Flu immunization (and others as required).
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen (for federally illegal substances) and be willing to undergo drug screenings as a condition of employment.
  • Must meet employment eligibility
  • Must be able to work variable shifts as needed
