Schedule: Full Time, Days - Mon off, Tues 7:45am-5:15pm, Wed 7:45am-8:15pm, Thurs 7:45am-5:15pm, Fri 7:45am-5:15pm, 2nd Sat of month 7:45am-12:15pm

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Assisting clinicians during examinations and other patient-related duties to ensure the safety and well-being of patients in the practice.
  • Interviewing patients in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Taking accurate vital signs which include, but are not limited to, temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressures, height and weight. Must be able to enter efficiently into the computer system.
  • Performing tests such as EKGs, PFTs, audio tests and vision tests and must set up any other tests requested by the physician.
  • Communicating test results to the patient under the direction of the provider, as well as answering questions that the patient may have.
  • Giving injections and performing venipuncture as needed.
  • Spinning blood samples and completing lab paperwork as needed.
  • Engaging, promoting self-care and providing encouragement to the patient.
  • Preparing the patient chart prior to the visit, which includes ensuring that all test results, hospital records and consult letters are in the record. Identifying any quality gaps and flagging them for the provider.
  • Assisting in the collection of clinical data for performance improvement purposes.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate, up-to-date record of supplies on hand.
  • Screening and redirecting telephone calls and walk-in visitors. Coordinating scheduling of appointments.
  • Performing CLIA-waived quality controls as needed.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma/GED and experience as a Medical Assistant or other healthcare professional meeting core competencies of the Medical Assistant profession (vital signs, EKGs, history and medication reconciliation).

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
