Pediatric group in East Greenwich, RI seeking a reliable medical assistant with strong people and communication skills to join our team. We are a busy group looking for someone with high energy, who enjoys working with kids, and a willingness to learn and take initiative. We are hiring for a full time position (4 days/week) plus weekend rotation on both Saturdays and Sundays. Candidate may be crossed trained for the front desk as needed as well. Experience is preferred. Excellent benefits offered for full time employees including health and dental insurance, paid time off and 401K.

Duties and responsibilities :

  • Assists with direct patient care and related tasks such as: lab tracking, obtaining patient history and vital signs verifying, medication lists, preparing charts and pre-visit planning
  • Performs routine specialized procedures, such as strep, COVID or flu and urine dips, etc.
  • Administers injections including vaccines and medications
  • Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters
  • Maintains stock levels for medicines and medical supplies as needed
  • Practices safety, environmental and/or infection control methods
  • Participates in Flu/COVID Clinics
  • Greet patients as they arrive
  • Accurately obtain and electronically document patient demographic, insurance, and payment information
  • Answer phones and route calls to the appropriate party in a fast paced environment.
  • Verify eligibility and insurance information
  • Collect credit card, co-payment information and complete batches at the end of day
  • Fax, file, scan necessary paperwork
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
