We are looking for a Medical Administrative Coordinator to join our medical practice in Southern Lancaster County and act as a point of contact for our employees, patients, and insurance companies. Medical Administrative Coordinator responsibilities include supporting regular office operations, screening phone calls, scheduling appointments / surgeries, and corresponding with insurance companies. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent organizational & retention skills along with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ultimately, you will provide administrative support to our staff, offer assistance throughout the day, and ensure all daily procedures run smoothly. This position is approximately 32 - 35 hours per week, with Thursday evening requirement (until 7pm). No weekends or Friday afternoons.

This position is a good fit for an experienced office medical assistant, or insurance liaison, who already has a working knowledge of some insurances, the flow of a medical office during a work day, and aspects of an EMR program, but is looking to gain more front office / administrative exposure. Efficient typing speed is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Manage phone calls appropriately
  • Schedule & prepare for office and vendor meetings
  • Distribute incoming mail, make deposits directly at bank
  • Manage inventory and order office supplies
  • Schedule surgeries and be point of contact for patients
  • Organize company documents into updated filing systems
  • Address employees’ and patients’ queries (via email, phone or in-person)
  • Prepare reports
  • Supervise new employees to ensure they are compliant with office policies and procedures.
  • Update office policies as needed.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations, confirm patient insurance benefits prior to appointments.
  • Assist billing company with any billing issues, claim appeals, and completing monthly reports in a timely manner.
  • Become proficient with our Medical Software program and monitor for updates. Educating rest of staff regarding software updates.
  • Maintain office compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and Insurance Plans.

Skills

  • Proven work experience as an Administrative Coordinator, Medical Biller or Medical Assistant
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office Suite (particularly MS Word and MS Excel)
  • Familiarity with office equipment, such as printers, fax machines, and multiline phone systems
  • Basic math skills, proficient at typing
  • Solid time-management abilities with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High school diploma; additional qualification in Medical Office Administration is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
