Associate Media Director (AMD)

The Associate Media Director will be a leader on the media team and will lead a team of media professionals on the day-to-day conception and delivery of well-targeted and business-building media solutions across a variety of media. The ideal candidate is someone who can showcase their integrated/digital thinking to develop innovative and effective media strategies with proven track records in media management/operation and numerical skills for our global automobile client. What really makes this role interesting is that you’ll work across every media channel and specialism so you will lead our media planning teams in both Plano and Long Beach offices and truly drive media innovation and integration while collaborating and partnering with all parts of the agency.

You lead by example as a strategic problem solver who can guide team members through each step of the process, from planning and development to deployment. You will provide guidance on various aspects of business, including resource planning, staff development, process improvements, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities For This Role

Have a deep understanding of digital, programmatic and paid social media tactics by ad type and KPI, knowing what each tactic is good for, what goals they help reach and when you should/should not use them for clients.

Familiar with media audience development and abilities in working/guiding media team by leveraging 3rd party/syndicated media tools while collaborating with strategy team to define and scale our media audience

Oversee media managers and planners to ensure that media plans are being designed and executed in a well-thought out manner, gathering all of the research needed to choose tactics and plans designed to hit specific client KPIs, falling within client budget

Work closely with the media buying team on the overall agency planning/buying process, ensuring planners and buyers are working together seamlessly and efficiently for the best client outcomes.

Creates a positive working environment and fosters an overall team approach

Works collaboratively across departments (strategy, creative, client leadership etc.) to develop the strategic design for innovative media plans

Fosters strong agency-vendor relations to develop comprehensive media plans that successfully accomplish client goals

Consistently bring new media and technology ideas to the team for application and brainstorming while also helping ensure that the media team continues to feel connected to the larger media community

Stimulates team productivity and growth by allocation of assignments which combine to make productive and effective use of each person’s skills, as well as motivating their interests and challenging their minds

Assist in recruiting and hiring for media planners within the department

Work on new business pitches, researching audiences, developing a media approach and presenting your findings to prospective clients.

Key Qualifications For This Role

Bachelor's degree

Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of digital media planning and buying experience from within an agency setting. Must have experience supervising and mentoring planners.

Strong knowledge of the digital media landscape and buying platforms (display, native, social, video, programmatic, etc.)

Cultivate assigned client/agency relationships and fulfill client needs

Committed involvement in the development of media strategies and the drive to bring them to fruition

Mentor and assist with training of Media Planners/Managers as needed to run the account successfully

Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with ability to take market, client and industry data and lead actionable plans. Proficiency with Excel required

Multi-tasker, critical thinker, works well under pressure, team player, excellent communicator, creative, motivator, independent, math-lover, proficient and comfortable with public speaking

Desire to grow with our team, take on new challenges and help us up our game.

Bilingual in an Asian language (Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Vietnamese) preferred
