A Med Tech/Certified Medication Assistant, passes Medications to our residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility, under the direction of a RN Pass and preforms Activity of Daily Living Needs for Residents.


  • Encourages and models a team approach to accomplish the Luther Manor Mission of providing excellent care and services to our customers.
  • Administer scheduled medication prescribed for routine administration according to medication administration policy and procedures. Administers select PRN medications only after the nurse has authorized the administration.
  • Communicate with the staff nurse any concerns related to proper care of the resident.
  • Take and record blood pressure and pulse as indicated in conjunction with prescribed medications.
  • Follow established infection/exposure control procedures, hazardous waste policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the nursing assistant job description when not administering medications.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all residents, departmental and organizational information.
  • May be required to perform duties as set forth on the CNA job description during a shift scheduled as Medication Technician.
  • May be required to work shifts as CNA on a given shift where Medication Technician hours are not available, or offered the option to go home if staffing levels permit.

  • Demonstrated competency as a C.M.A (Certified Medication Aide) and C.N.A. through certified with State/Federal status on the State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Registry
  • Must have the ability to interact diplomatically and effectively with staff, residents, family members, visitors and volunteers
  • Candidates with an enthusiasm and passion for serving the older adult population; able to demonstrate a positive attitude, teamwork, ability to be proactive and show compassion for others
  • Candidates with a positive, proactive, and solution-focused approach to work
  • Ability to spend 90% of the work shift moving about the work area, extensive walking is required
  • Physically able to assist and transport residents; must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
