A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MECHANICAL DESIGNER - ENGINEER

As a new Mechanical Designer - Engineer, you help out with developing engineering and mechanical designs, drawings, and customized products. Leveraging your exceptional communication skills, you confirm customer requirements and resolve problems. In addition, you conduct tests and evaluations of mechanical fabrication processes while also providing technical support as needed.

Initially, this full-time mechanical design position requires you to work in-office, as you will need to undergo an initial training phase. However, after this phase has concluded, we offer a hybrid model that includes the option to work from home.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A MECHANICAL DESIGNER - ENGINEER?

• Skilled use of a CAD program, preferably Solidworks
• Highly developed understanding of engineering drawings
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures of drafting, including weld symbols and basic knowledge of geometric tolerance
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
• Bachelor in mechanical or industrial engineering, or A.A.S. drafting degree and relevant experience

Though it's not required, we'd love it if you're able to read, understand, and mark up electrical drawings. Experience in the manufacturing industry would also be a plus.
