The City of Dodge City is seeking qualified applicants for the Mechanic position with the Public Works Department!
The objective of the Mechanic is to perform a variety of skilled mechanical repair work to gas and diesel-powered and automotive equipment; carries out a preventive maintenance program. Other duties may be assigned.
Requires:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of mechanical training or apprenticeship.
- Two years of general automotive mechanical experience.
- A valid Kansas Driver's License.
- Individual must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with air-brake endorsement.
- Good driving record.
Physical Environment:
- The duties of this job include physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, walking, lifting (up to 75 pounds), grasping, talking, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, and repetitive motions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.10 - $23.94 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Dodge City, KS 67801: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
