Job Summary/Overview

Support Photo Materials team in various tasks related to Material qualification.

As a member of the photo process team, technicians are responsible for performing activities that maintain the flow of production through the factory, maintaining high quality, and working to achieve the company's business objectives. This includes but is not limited to: troubleshooting basic tool issues and making decisions based on effective data analysis; responding to failures using existing procedures; proposing solutions using existing best known methods and procedures; daily process monitoring for SPC trends and change point monitoring; performing data analysis and making informed decisions based on findings; and providing support for abnormal events.

Specific Job Duties

Material Technicians will be responsible for batch qualifications for various photo materials, as well as supporting the engineering staff in projects and higher risk batch qualifications. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
1) Management of material within Photo specific Samsung systems.
2) Interact with groups outside of Photo during material qualifications (Logistics, MT, and DE).
3) Process lots and gather data into standardized report, with recommendation for pass/fail.
4) Track ongoing qualifications and inventory to ensure material days of stock remains at target.
5) Sending out weekly inventory reports to Photo, MT, and Procurement to make sure all stakeholders are aware of any ongoing quality or stock issues.
6) Assisting with biannual inventory audits.
7) Reviewing upcoming expirations and unqualified onsite inventory to prevent material runout or scrap.

  • Knowledge in photolithography process and understanding of photolithography process qualification
  • Investigate quality issues and maintain high level of process control
  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Perform routine process monitoring, adjustments and qualification in a high-speed, high-throughput manufacturing environment
  • Interface with process/equipment engineers and fab technicians to audit and evolve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and OCAPs for completeness and correctness
  • Disposition lots, identifying the critical failures that imply bigger problems. Fix those problems or document and escalate
  • Regularly monitor current and incoming inventory to allow continuous flow of production material through photo equipment
  • Designs and runs all aspects of experiments to test hypotheses
  • Able to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate throughout organization
  • Familiar with foundry style semiconductor manufacturing and logic semiconductor manufacturing
  • Work a flexibile schedule based on company needs which include (but are not limited to) night shift rotations, weekend, and holiday coverage split amongst the team.

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

  • 2 year technical degree, or equivalent military experience if not available.
  • 1 year experience in Photolithography.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools:

  • Ability to prepare and present reports of a technical nature.
  • Understanding of semiconductor wafer processing fundamentals
  • Fosters cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables. Participates and encourages transparent information sharing amongst team members.

Work Hour Expectations - Shifts, Weekends, Overtime, On call
40hrs, M-F 8AM-5PM (1st shift)
