Material Handlers

The Material Handler - Processing & Material Handler - Packaging positions play a vital part in our Receiving, Unloading, Dumping, Grinding, Roasting & Packaging functions. New positions are being added on our teams to provide support and software experience for our NetSuite implementation.

Material Handler - Processing's Primary Job Functions:

  • Receive coffee transfer orders and purchase orders in real-time using NetSuite.
  • Process movement of trailers through our PINK system.
  • Work with and have basic accounting knowledge of receiving, blending, staging, etc. raw materials.
  • Document, and understand the importance of, pounds received, different lot coding and markings, and blending to different silo holding systems.Act as a liaison between departments and shifts.
  • Perform basic math and understands unit of measures.
  • Communicate with processing and support personnel to plan their upcoming material needs for the day.
  • Operate Strong-arm, Mobe-crane and Vac-lift assist (Tea) frequently throughout the shift.
  • Cut green coffee bags for green pit dumping.
  • Assist with sacking off coffee in Green and Roasting areas as required.
  • Perform master sanitation tasks as required.
  • Assist with rework reintroduction as required.
  • Process movement forms, bag markings and utilization of contract numbers (Coffee).
  • Process blend sheets, sequence numbering and contracts for traceability (Tea).
  • Accurately complete all required quality checks and paperwork.
  • Participate in material inventory (Period-end, Year-end, Cycle counts).
  • Perform additional duties directed by the Supervisor.

Material Handler - Packaging's Primary Job Functions:

  • Communicate with packers and material handlers to plan upcoming material needs for the day.
  • Support packaging personnel by providing materials to complete the packaging process and moving finished goods to locations within the warehouse.
  • Scan materials from hold bin to line stage bin using NetSuite
  • Build pallets in NetSuite by number of cases on each pallet
  • Communicate cross-functionally and technically with IT teams and NetSuite supportive roles.
  • Work with and have basic accounting knowledge of receiving, staging, consuming, etc. of package supplies.
  • Verify work orders and recognize errors and mistakes.
  • Perform basic math and understands unit of measures.
  • Execute material changeovers on select machines frequently throughout the shift.
  • Understand the function of a line sheet and BOM thoroughly.
  • Stack finished goods cases onto pallets following required pallet patterns.
  • Make simple mechanical adjustments/repairs, such as realigning belts, rethreading machine or replacing rollers.
  • Clean work area, machines and equipment in order to aid the packer operators.
  • Accurately complete all required quality checks and paperwork.
  • Perform master sanitation tasks as assigned by their Group Leader/Supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties directed by the Supervisor.
Requirements:

Qualifications for Material Handler positions:

  • 1+ years of experience and proficiency using NetSuite software, or similar software in a manufacturing/warehousing/production environment.
  • Strong data entry and general computer use skills.
  • Experience working with multi-level bills of materials.
  • Strong ability to multitask and to work independently.
  • Proven track record in strong attendance and reliability.
  • Should be self-directed and responsible.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels with the operation.
  • Pallet jack and forklift experience.
  • Ability to use the RF scanning system efficiently and accurately.
  • Understanding of how to retrieve required materials from the pick locations.
  • Understanding of different plant MES programs and systems.
  • Understanding material flow and inventory systems.
