Summary:

Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Denver plant located in Longmont, CO has an opening on our team for Materials Coordinator.

The primary focus of this position is to keep the production lines loaded with material, in correct order sequence, which the operators will need to consume for each day’s orders. Handler is responsible for the safe and orderly movement and staging of coils from unloading incoming coil trucks to final production usage. Responsible for receiving coils in computer system, uploading documents to ERP system, processing paperwork and communicating with Materials Manager.

This is a permanent full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package. Starting pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00, depending on experience.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Follow receiving procedure as outlined by Materials Manager
  • Stage coils in correct areas
  • Must be able to effectively retrieve coils with forklift using production list provided by Production Manager.
  • Coils are pulled using FIFO – First In, First Out
  • Must be able to unwrap, upend, load and unload the un-coiler mandrels
  • Ensure every coil or partial coil is tagged with its identifying information
  • Perform all material handling functions safely and to protect the raw material product in all handling procedures
  • Dispose of coil cores in appropriate dumpsters
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Keep all coil locations organized and tidy. Including emptying trash, stacking, banding and removing coil pallets, cleaning equipment and controlling any oily conditions on the floor.
  • Follow all safety guidelines as established by Metal Sales Manufacturing and/or management.
  • Other projects and tasks as directed by management

Job Requirements:

The most qualified candidates will have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have high level skills in forklift driving, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency and care in product handling
  • Use of overhead crane to offload coil from flatbed trucks
  • Must be able to use computer systems such as email, windows and receiving software
  • Capable of physically handling coil cores up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluent English
