Job Description


Contribute to the overall effectiveness of Work Training and Business Services by remaining cross trained on all aspects of the production and training operations and performing all other task as assigned.


Essential Functions:


  • Operates the forklift to move work materials and recycle materials on/off trucks and throughout warehouse safely.
  • Notify supervisor when necessary to order supplies, and when equipment needs service/repair.
  • Assists route drivers and customers with loading and unloading of supplies and completed work items.
  • Stack pallets; arrange materials as directed, while adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Assists Work Training Center associates as needed.
  • Observes safety procedures and personnel policies.
  • Regular attendance is required as outlined in Goodwill’s attendance policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Skills, knowledge and abilities:


  • Must be able to and interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
  • Must be a role model for participants and be able to provide training in production line processes.
  • Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English – enough to keep logs updated.
  • Must be able to keep information confidential.
  • Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisor and co-workers.
  • Must be a hands-on person who knows what needs to be done and has a strong sense of ownership and is able to complete task with a “get things done” attitude.
  • Must be proactive in nature and operate with a sense of safety, urgency, focus and discipline.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.


Qualifications


Experience and Education Requirements:

    • High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
    • Current Forklift Certification required.
    • Prior experience working in a warehouse environment preferred.
    • Prior forklift experience in a warehouse environment preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in frequent bending, stretching, stooping, and prolonged standing, walking and twisting.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75lbs. regularly and 100+ lbs. with assistance occasionally.
  • Ability to utilize a pallet jack safely.
  • Ability to use fingers, hands and wrists, repetitively.

Part-time position - up to 29 hours per week. $12.25/hour
