Job Summary

The Material Handler will be required to perform daily task that include, loading/ unloading of trucks, quality control inspection, packing for shipping, inventory movement and verification counts, and deliveries to customers and job sites. The material handler will participate in cross training within other departments as well. The material handler will need to be available for overtime and weekends as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load/Unload/Relocate material as needed per Inventory/Production/Shipping/Quality Control requirements
  • Ensures all products are loaded accurately on trucks
  • Receive raw material and verify against packing slip
  • Keep all parts in designated area
  • Unload trucks as required
  • Load trucks as required
  • Return material to inventory from work orders
  • Participate in job rotation through each cell for cross training
  • Make deliveries to customer or project job sites as needed, (travel may be required up to 15%)
  • Perform additional tasks as required per management

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Valid drivers license
  • Must have good understanding of safe practices
  • Overtime may be required, including weekends
  • Ability to drive trucks, trailer, and 26’ box truck
  • Forklift skills preferred
  • Excellent time management
  • Deadline-oriented, to ensure work is completed on time

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years in materials/inventory control experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with clean DMV record

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in adverse outside weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
