Title: Marketing Manager
Classification: Full Time Exempt
Reports To: VP of Marketing

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for in-store customer communications as well as other marketing programs as assigned.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the brand steward to insure all marketing and other company communications are in alignment with
visual standards.
  • Develop departmental signage solutions for each of Vallarta’s merchandising categories (Meat, Seafood,
Produce, Grocery, Floral, Front End, etc.).
  • Lead the development of private brand packaging with assigned graphic designer.
  • Identify and establish relationships with the appropriate agency and vendor partners to help grow the business.
  • Manage 3rd party advertisers within Vallarta stores – review visuals for adherence to set standards, provide
monthly reports on revenue and negotiate contracts as needed.
  • Be a steward of the brand and consumer communications collaborator / thought leader for other departments
within Vallarta, especially merchandising.
  • Adhere to deadlines and produces projects/assignments in a timely fashion.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing team members, designers, product teams, developers, and database
admins.
  • Perform other duties and special projects required by the organization.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Solid understanding of consumer communications principles and practice.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight timelines but remain detail oriented.
  • Ability to lead the organization on design but remain open to input and mandated changes.
  • Solid written and verbal communications
  • Financial Scope- Working knowledge of the budget and tracking to ensure efficiency.
  • Experienced in developing and executing a marketing design and has an advanced understanding of what
makes content engaging and successful across platforms and audiences.
  • Demonstrates curiosity; keeps up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies, and resources.
  • Is motivated and driven, and collaborates well with Creatives, Project Managers, Business Owners, and
Executives to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
  • Has a passion for cultivating relationships, managing, and mentoring creatives, and can use that rapport to align
teams around a vision
  • Solid understanding of local market creative and cultures
  • Strong command of visual and communication design principles
  • Proven history of developing and implementing strategic marketing/communications plans with clearly
articulated goals and impact metrics

REQUIRED EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Marketing, Business or Retail
  • Demonstrated track record of managing consumer communications projects in either an agency or retail
environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Business to Consumer marketing (retail preferred)
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and projects at once.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Some travel and overnight stays from time to time. May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt level position; Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (ON-SITE); schedule would be based on business necessity. Must be willing to work; morning, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business necessity and coordinated through the reporting supervisor. Flexibility with hours (Weekends, Evenings) and comfort with travel (Domestic).
