WeHOPE Marketing Manager

WeHOPE is a rapidly growing homeless services agency based in East Palo Alto, California. Our mission is to help people become healthy, employed and housed using innovative solutions. Our core programs include a 55-bed shelter in East Palo Alto; a 100 room non-congregate hotel in San Francisco, Outreach Case Management, RV Safe Parking in East Palo Alto, Dignity on Wheels mobile showers, laundry and outreach serving the San Francisco Bay Area; and HOPE Jobs employment training, certification and placement.

We are seeking a Marketing Manager responsible for WeHOPE’s brand and all aspects of marketing communications. Goals include raising awareness, helping acquire and sustain funding from individual donors, and fostering relationships with the many communities and stakeholders we serve. The Marketing Manager will lead the marketing team, report to the COO, and work closely with the Development team to design and implement effective campaigns that are focused on our mission and strategic plans. Ideal candidates understand how to secure financial resources through fundraising appeals and events. As a small organization, we value individuals who are creative, skilled at solving problems, and who enjoy working as a team player as well as independently.

Excellent communications and storytelling skills are a must, utilizing the written and spoken word as well as strong visuals. We also seek demonstrated experience using business intelligence tools, creating/editing video content, managing graphic design and using HTML and CSS. We prefer candidates with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience leading successful marketing campaigns for a nonprofit or start-up company. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Key Deliverables

  • Develop and implement annual marketing plans that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound.
  • Develop and execute measurable cross-channel marketing campaigns to increase funding from individual donors
  • Write and produce three quarterly reports and one annual report.
  • Manage and update the website and social media presence with timely content to reach diverse audiences including major donors, community partners, corporations, volunteers and government officials.
  • Produce collateral material for programs, services, events and fundraising initiatives.
  • Participate in fundraising events, community activities and networking opportunities
  • Gain visibility through external media
  • Track and analyze all marketing activities and campaigns, and deliver monthly reports to COO for sharing with the Board of Directors
  • Conduct donor surveys and adapt campaigns
