Job Description
Position Summary:
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and execution of marketing activities, as assigned.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Events: Assists in the planning and execution of sponsored events. Includes pre-event coordination with district and store partners, on-site event execution and post-event evaluation and recap reporting.
  • In-Store Communication: Responsible for tracking all store signage programs and requests. Assist in the development of new pro-active programs to address store communication/signage needs.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Assist in developing marketing/merchandising program KPIs and tools to analyze program effectiveness.
  • Marketing Spend: Responsible for the tracking and weekly reporting of marketing spend vs. budget. Process and maintain records of all Marketing related invoices.
  • Finalize, create, and upload Weekly Specials for In-store Radio.
  • Send Weekly Marketing Calendar with current demo schedule and Parking Lot events.
  • Manage all e-mails received to info@vallartasupermarkets.com
  • Execute In-Store Fundraising Campaigns (MDA, CMN and Teleton USA). Oversees communication between organizations, provide weekly updates to stores, request final totals & processes check requests for partnering charities.
  • Maintain an updated inventory of all Marketing assets (promotional items, branded assets, team member jackets, etc.)
  • Other: Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Solid understanding of consumer communications principles and practices.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight timelines but remain detail-oriented.
  • Ability to lead the organization on design but remain open to input and mandated changes.
  • Financial Scope- Working knowledge of the budget and tracking to ensure efficiency.
  • Experienced in developing and executing a marketing design and has an advanced understanding of what makes content engaging and successful across platforms and audiences.
  • Demonstrates curiosity; keeps up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies, and resources.
  • Is motivated and driven, and collaborates well with Creatives, Project Managers, Business Owners, and Executives to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
  • Has a passion for cultivating relationships, managing, and mentoring creatives, and can use that rapport to align teams around a vision.
  • Solid understanding of local market creative and cultures
  • Has experience managing and hiring a team of creatives and takes pride in mentoring design talent.
  • Strong command of visual and communication design principles
  • Passionate about graphic design, typography, photography, motion, and illustration
  • Proven history of developing and implementing strategic marketing/communications plans with clearly articulated goals and impact metrics
  • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related area, or equivalent work experience preferred. Exceptional attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (word, PowerPoint and excel) is required.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and projects at once.

  • Bilingual Spanish (fluent: read, write, and speak)

Physical Demands:
Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Some travel and overnight stays from time to time. May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work :
This is a non-exempt level position; Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (ON-SITE); the schedule would be based on business necessity. Must be willing to work; mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on a business necessity and coordinated through the reporting supervisor.
