SUMMARY of POSITION:

This position is unique in that it requires the employee to work independently in a self-contained machining area across multiple machines that includes: broaching, welding, CNC programming / machine control using early model broaching and late model Mazak & Hermle equipment. The position requires some physical labor and can be a very dynamic environment depending upon the state of demand.

PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Perform machining activities as required via trained procedures and/or machining prints

– Perform some repetitive processes to meet production needs

– Perform as required final measurement layout of components to ensure print requirements are met

– Perform all required activities in a safe and quality conscious manner

– Attend company provided meetings and training as required

– Maintain a clean and safe working area in accordance with Procedures and Plant Safety Rules

Basic Qualifications:

– A comprehensive machining background:

· A minimum of 2 years machining related experience or documented credentialed &/or mentored machining related training program ​

· Willingness to participate in company provided training (on-site as well as off-site)

– The ability to read & understand blueprints, tolerances, symbols, & basic knowledge of GD & T

– The ability to perform dimensional part inspections utilizing calipers, micrometers, and various handheld gauges

– Must be dependable, self-motivated and work well within a team setting as well as capable of working independently with minimal supervision

– Must be detailed oriented, flexible / adaptable, maintain a strong work ethic and be open-minded

– Quality mindset willing to communicate product quality issues / concerns

– Proficient communication skills

– High School education or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

– Advanced level of training in related discipline

– 2 – 4 years of experience in related field

– Working knowledge of LSS, ISO, & Safety methodologies

– CNC / Tool & Die Technologies

CNC Set-up / Operator Certificate
