Title: Manager Human Resources

Reports to: Vice President Human Resources

Summary:

This position will provide support to the Human Resources department in all functional areas with emphasis on benefits administration, recruitment, record management, reporting, training, and regulatory compliance. Duties are varied and require independent judgment, technical knowledge and the ability to balance shifting priorities successfully with minimal supervision and independent judgement. The position is expected to demonstrate integrity and ethics in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. A professional, customer service demeanor is always required.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ Human Resources experience or related experience.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; skills in database management / HRIS systems (ie: Kronos, adp, aps)
  • Experience with multi-site/multi-state distributed workforce preferred

Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of employment/labor law at the federal, state, and local levels; Understanding of HR policies & procedures, HR best practices and current regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to effectively communicate information clearly to internal and external customers.

Required Credentials:

All employees must pass a background screening and drug test for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Human Resource Information System (HRIS) - serve as system expert.
  • Benefit programs - administer programs (retirement plan, health & insurance plans, COBRA, FMLA, Employee Assistance Program, etc.) to include enrollment, renewal, and changes.
  • Payroll – assist with processing employee changes and updates.
  • Worker’s Compensation - Investigate and administer claims, maintain required documentation; serve as liaison for staff. Complete annual OSHA 300 logs and postings.
  • Recruitment – place job ads, assist with first review of candidates & schedule interviews.
  • Reporting - compile personnel related reports (EEOC, ACA, turnover rate, total compensation, state & federal grant deliverables and department audits).
  • State and federal laws / labor laws - stay abreast of relevant laws related to the day-to-day management of employees to ensure organization and HR policies are compliant.
  • Training – analyze training/development needs for all level employees. Participate in establishment of training protocols for the onboarding process.
  • United Way partnership – run annual campaign / renewals, track donations.
  • Safety Committee – serve as Chair working with Director of Facilities
  • Participate and lead in shaping an organizational culture that adheres to Easterseals Happiness House’s core values, mission and vision statement.
  • Comply with Easter Seals policies and procedures utilizing the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and behavior.
  • Provide direct staff support and training to ensure quality programming.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy. and effective communication while working at Easter Seals or when representing the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
