The Manager, Alliance Management reporting to the Sr. Director, Alliance Management supports the Alliance Management department within the Business Development organization. In this role, you will manage assigned alliances from inception through the alliance lifecycle while engaging with internal stakeholders and partner contacts to meet contractual obligations and maximize partnership value. This role will work to resolve alliance issues that may arise, escalate issues and alliance performance to the Sr. Director and support reporting for governance committees and systems/tools, which house Alliance data and information. This role can sit remote within the US or at one of our headquarters in RTP or in our Philadelphia location.
Responsibilities
  • Launch new alliances and manage existing alliances as assigned in collaboration with internal team members and partner contacts.
  • Represent Alliance Management in Joint Steering Committee meetings or other governance meetings.
  • Develop summaries for internal stakeholders to ensure partnership structure and responsibilities are known.
  • Monitor contractual obligations and report status to manager.
  • Escalate operational-level conflicts.
  • Facilitate ancillary agreements and contract amendments with internal stakeholders and partner.
  • Maintain Alliance Management tools, systems to manage partnership information, assist with decision-making and track partnership evolution.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on reporting obligations and meeting timelines.
  • Facilitate contract and partner related questions and issues with appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with preparing summaries and documents for internal committees and meetings.
Required Education & Experience
  • B.A/B.S. degree.
  • Minimum 7+ years of university, pharma or biotech experience.
  • Previous experience in Alliance Management.
  • Strong time-management and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the industry and pharmaceutical product development.
  • Experience working directly with third parties and demonstrated interpersonal communication skills with the ability to develop and manage relationships/partnerships and influence team members in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience reading and synthesizing complicated legal agreements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communication tools (Microsoft Teams and Email).
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Advanced degree (Business or Science).
  • Experience leading committees.
