Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
EDUCATION: Trade, high school diploma or GED required and at least one year of specialized training.
EXPERIENCE:
- As least four years relevant experience
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Requires computer skills and excellent communication skills.
- Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.
- Valid driver's license must be maintained.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly requires walking, standing, and stooping/bending (1/2-3/4 of the work day).

- Requires lifting up to 100 pounds, pushing/pulling and repetitive wrist/hand motion (1/4-1/2 of the work day).
