Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is seeking a Part- Time Maintenance Mechanic at our locations Allentown.

  • Position avail for 7a-3p starting rate $20.71/hour
  • **COVID Vaccine is required**
  • Part-time- 32 hours biweekly pay

This is skilled maintenance and repair work, performing general maintenance & effecting repairs to machinery, equipment & related facilities. A position in this class works in electrical, plumbing, carpentry & other areas, for tasks other than those subject to building code requirements. Work includes operation of motor vehicles & power equipment, and may include work at higher level, semi-skilled levels on an incidental basis.

Typical Examples of Work:

  • Services, removes, repairs, tests & operates specialized equipment such as wheelchairs, beds, kitchen equipment, & general equipment such as door closers, locks, mowers, lights, blowers & mechanical tools.
  • makes repairs to structural components of various facilities such as buildings, park structures, pavement & bridges, services, removes, repairs & replaces doors, windows, walls & partitions, masonry and related elements.
  • receives job orders or notices of malfunction; inspects & tests items, mechanism or structural component; identifies source of problem or other repair needed, determines materials needed for job, checking supplies & ordering and receiving supplies for each job and coordinates schedule for job performance.
  • drives trucks of various size to haul gravel, cement, brush or other materials, operates backhoes, fork lifts, spray rigs, air compressors and jack hammers. & similar maintenance or construction equipment.
  • cutting and welding equipment, provides preventive maintenance for and repairs of such equipment and vehicles.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques commonly employed in mechanical & structural maintenance repair & repair work.
  • Through knowledge of tools, materials & safety precautions of mechanical & structural maintenance & repair work.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles of various sizes, maintenance and construction equipment.
  • Ability to determine time, materials, equipment required to complete assigned jobs.
  • ability to instruct & oversee the efforts of other personnel as well as understand & follow oral & written instructions.
  • ability to keep record of activities.
  • ability to lift, carry & maneuver into position of variety of heavy and/or unwieldy tools & materials.
  • ability to work in close proximity to nursing facility patients, families & visitors, if required by work assignment.
  • Must have full use of hands, ability to stand for extensive periods, bend, pull, push and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education equivalent to completion of 12th grade.
  • 2-3 years experience in equipment & facility maintenance or repair work.
  • Any equivalent combination of training & experience which has provided the knowledge, skills & abilities cited above.
  • possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's licensed issued by the Commonwealth of PA.
