Position Summary
Advanced understanding of both mechanical and electrical maintenance (Multi-Craft)

Key Position Results (Examples: Accurate financial reporting, Timely issue resolution, etc.)
Ø Ability to troubleshoot & resolve intermediate mechanical & electrical problems in an efficient and safe manner throughout the facility

Ø Perform advanced preventative maintenance on all machinery as assigned.

Ø Makes advanced repairs and adjustment to mechanical & electrical devices

Ø May perform basic machining duties

Ø Completes welding and fabrication tasks with little direction

Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Ø Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing and code books. Ø Advanced mechanical, welding and cutting skills Ø Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints. Ø Good problem solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality. Ø Advanced workbench and computer skills. Ø Advanced knowledge of AC/DC motor drives, PLC and SLC controllers and motor control circuits Ø Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and code books. Education / Training Required Ø Minimum of a high school diploma or GED Ø CPR and First Aid Training Ø Lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, confined spaced training Ø WI electrical safety training Ø Complete knowledge of Standard Operating Procedure Manual Ø 3-5 years maintenance experience

1) Describe the decisions and independent judgments made by incumbents in this position.
Employees are allowed to stop the line if it is unsafe or if they have found a quality issue. Determines whether a part will pass a quality control inspection. Troubleshooting and repair of machines.

2) Describe the decisions made by incumbents in this position that are based on defined processes or parameters (i.e., pricing matrix). Please attach copies of any applicable decision templates or procedures.

Preventative maintenance on all machines on shop floor based on set criteria.

3) Describe how the discretionary decisions and independent judgments affect operating income or other matters of significance.

Equipment reliability is negatively impacted if decisions are not made proactively.

4) Describe the recommendations made by the incumbents in this position. Who reviews the recommendations and what are the general outcomes of those recommendations?
Employees can put in safety recommendations & process Improvement recommendations. The plant manager, supervisors and safety council review recommendations. Improvements in machine functionality reviewed by group leaders, maintenance manager and engineering.

5) Describe whether the current independent discretion, decision making and authority will become more or less prevalent in the future (i.e., expected centralization/decentralization).
As the plant continues to automate more machinery, this position’s decision making authority will increase
