We are currently seeking a full-time, experienced Maintenance Manager at the OAC System in Oakland, CA.

We are looking for an experienced professional to manage maintenance and capital programs, contracts and services of the Oakland Airport Connector (OAC) System train system and fixed facilities to support safety, compliance to contractual requirements and applicable codes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance of the OAC System and related fixed facilities.
  • Oversee and manage all maintenance staff.
  • Oversee the Company Safety Program by assessing, auditing and enforcement of the safety policies.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, oversight, evaluation and enforcement of Company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training to and evaluation of staff.
  • Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance of OAC System as required.
  • Plan and assign preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to staff.
  • Verify preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and all associated required paperwork is complete, accurate and entered into the maintenance database.
  • Lead the hiring process for maintenance personnel.
  • Oversee maintenance inventory and lead the spare tools and spare parts program.
  • Oversee contract management and coordination and oversight of subcontractor’s work onsite.
  • Prepare job performance evaluations for direct reports and oversee overall completion of the annual assessment for maintenance staff.
  • Support budgeting process.
  • Support reporting for the Client and internally.
  • Serve as System Operator as needed.
  • Support day-to-day operations and maintenance on assigned shift and assists in resolving operational disturbances, troubleshooting and leads emergency operation procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prepare and maintain records and complete forms and reports clearly and accurately in a timely manner.
  • Adopt a “hands-on” approach to solve mechanical / electrical problems.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Coordinate work responsibilities within a group.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Climb stairs as part of a regular routine.
  • Ability to address customers in a professional manner.
  • Able to get certification and do work at heights.
  • Lift forty pounds and walk up to 3-miles.

  • Shift work may be required with some graveyard hours.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Experienced in developing, motivating, mentoring and managing maintenance team and effectively leads the OAC maintenance team, makes necessary changes and proposes the best maintenance and operational models.
  • Has experience managing teams and equipment in high-pace and dynamic work environment where safety and reliability are paramount.
  • Has sufficient technical background with experience and education in electrical controls and industrial mechanics to be able to “hit the ground” running quickly in understanding of the system components and system maintenance overall. Is an “outside the box” thinker who is able to resolve technical issues and propose improvements in all areas of Company business.
  • Has previous experience managing complex maintenance contracts and programs and can navigate through overlapping jurisdictions. Having good negotiation skills.
  • Has a solid understanding of the asset management life cycle and can apply and determine the best approach for maintenance and can implement the approach utilizing the Company maintenance management system.
  • Has a “get it done” and “one team” attitude.
  • Is customer service oriented.
  • Preferred 6 years of maintenance management.
  • Preferred 6 years of experience with applicable mechanical or electrical work. This includes ropeway maintenance, transit system maintenance work, industrial mechanical work, industrial automation, electrical installation or maintenance work or similar.
  • Certification in an electrical trade, millwright Trade or aircraft maintenance trade or similar a plus.
  • Experience and working knowledge on the principles of planning and coordinating work with lower-level staff.
  • Experience and working knowledge of the principles on training, evaluation and motivation of assigned staff.
  • Experience and working knowledge on the principles to identify opportunities to improve maintenance methods and procedures and identify resources and needs.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical / electrical engineering design.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical / electrical equipment and materials.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of using and following O&M Manuals, including reading and understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of methods and techniques of field measuring and testing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
