Maintenance Assistant

Position Summary: The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring the daily maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds of a Senior Living Community. Working closely with the Maintenance Director, this position will help with preventive maintenance work and special projects, as assigned. The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting with providing a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents, guests and team members.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

• Basic general repair skills and knowledge building maintenance
• At least one-year maintenance work experience
• Prior experience in senior living or other healthcare related facility, is preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a compassion for older adults

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure all aspects of the building are in a good state of repair
• Complete repair/maintenance work orders
• Prioritizes service requests and makes quality workmanship repairs in a timely manner
• Perform routine inspections of interior and exterior of building
• Carry out routine janitorial duties to keep building and grounds clean and neat
• Responsible for timely turnover of vacant apartments
• Maintain dumpster area and monitor trash pickup
• Log and date all equipment checks and tests, all preventive repair and routine replacement
• Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls as instructed by the Maintenance Director
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Executive Director
