We are hiring full-time Night Shift Material Handlers to run our Grinder & Shredder machines with an average starting rate of up to $20.50 an hour (incl. overtime and shift differential) at our Portland, PA location. Portland is conveniently located along the Delaware Water Gap and within 30 minutes of Stroudsburg, Easton, Brodheadsville, Mt. Pocono, and Hackettstown, NJ.

Essential Daily Responsibilities of a Material Handler

• Load raw materials onto the machine conveyor belt, i.e., grinders and shredders
• Follow equipment procedures to keep the line running
• Abide by all safety policies and practices
• Maintain a clean work area
• Use forklift to transfer material
• Follow production schedule to fulfill orders
• Must be able to work a 12-hour 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
• 2-week rotational 2*2*3 schedule: Sun, Wed, Thurs and Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat (36 hrs / 48 hrs)

Physical Qualifications

• Lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
• Standing for an extended period
• Lift, throw, bend, squat, twist, and reach
• Work in both hot and cold conditions

Job Requirements

• Be 18 years or older
• Eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship
• The candidate must be able to read and write English
  
• Basic computer knowledge is a plus
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening, physical, and drug screen
• Be a dependable self-starter with a desire to learn and cross-train
• Have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and excellent attendance
• Previous manufacturing experience a plus, but not necessary
