Position Summary:

  • Provides direct nursing care to residents
  • Delegates and supervises the care provided by Resident Assistants
  • Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures, obtains specimens as needed, completes documentation as required
  • Position reports to the Director of Health Services and may be required to supervise other staff positions

Essential Job Functions:

  • Document resident status as per policy.
  • Provide daily supervision to assigned staff and directly provide nursing care to residents as assigned.
  • May assist with finding replacements for call-ins.
  • Participate in the admission of new residents.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), family/social activities and actively promote independent lifestyle of residents.
  • Respond to resident call system promptly and courteously.

Requirements:

  • Education Required (Preferred): Current nursing license in state where employed.
  • One year of experience working as a LPN/CNA/PCA/RA, preferred
  • One year of experience working with Alzheimer’s residents Preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

  • The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
  • Ability to learn and work with the specific needs of those residents suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and/or other related dementias
  • Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Agreement to complete orientation program for Heartfelt Connections Program
  • A basic proficiency in the English language enabling the caregiver to understand and communicate with our Community’s residents is an essential skill
