What You'll Do:
Primary Responsibility:
Manages carriers in determining the best shipping solution balancing price, service, and carrier availability. Manages carrier performance to maintain a minimum of 95% on time delivery using effective problem-solving skills.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with the Transportation Operations Manager to efficiently manage carrier performance to achieve on-time deliveries.
- Effectively plan and coordinate product transport for our high-volume, fast-paced drayage operation.
- Utilize your knowledge of regional ports/marine terminals and drayage operations to maximize productivity, manage costs, and quickly avoid or solve problems in real time.
- Maintain excellent information flow and communications between a wide range of people including drivers, suppliers, and management.
- Earn between $52,000 and $58,000 per year, qualifying for benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401K with matching, paid holidays, and paid time off in your first year. Schedule is first shift, Monday - Friday.
- 2-5 years transportation and dispatch experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Some experience with dispatch in a drayage operation or marine terminal/port setting.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, with AS/400 experience preferred.
- Knowledge of regional marine terminals/ports highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and willingness to take initiative.
