Job Description:

  • Under supervision, instructs students ages 6 months - 3 years in swimming and water safety as a part of an overall recreation program.

Essential Duties:

  • Teach various swimming skills and water safety to students with little swimming experience.
  • Train others in Water Safety Instruction.
  • Enforce pool regulations during class hours.
  • Assist in policing the pool area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge and possession of swimming skills and the ability to convey said skills to others.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work and to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, crawl, reach, grasp, kneel, push, pull and perform a variety of similar body movements.
  • Possesses hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to use emergency equipment and apply CPR.
  • Ability to talk and hear in person, by telephone and two-way radio.
  • Ability to see and read instructions, observe swimming area and read data.
  • Ability to maintain good relationship with students, parents, and other employees.

Experience and Training:

  • Any combination of experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school and some swimming experience.

Special Requirements:

  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, and First Aid Certifications necessary.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.12 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • North Platte, NE: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
