Little Otter Instructor Job at City of North Platte
Job Description:
- Under supervision, instructs students ages 6 months - 3 years in swimming and water safety as a part of an overall recreation program.
Essential Duties:
- Teach various swimming skills and water safety to students with little swimming experience.
- Train others in Water Safety Instruction.
- Enforce pool regulations during class hours.
- Assist in policing the pool area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge and possession of swimming skills and the ability to convey said skills to others.
- Ability to perform moderate physical work and to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, crawl, reach, grasp, kneel, push, pull and perform a variety of similar body movements.
- Possesses hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to use emergency equipment and apply CPR.
- Ability to talk and hear in person, by telephone and two-way radio.
- Ability to see and read instructions, observe swimming area and read data.
- Ability to maintain good relationship with students, parents, and other employees.
Experience and Training:
- Any combination of experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school and some swimming experience.
Special Requirements:
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, and First Aid Certifications necessary.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.12 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Weekend availability

- North Platte, NE: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
