OPPORTUNITY | Litigation Attorney

We seek a well-rounded, highly-motivated, experienced associate attorney with a minimum of three years of litigation experience including but not limited to personal injury, products liability, mass torts, and class action. Must be licensed to practice. This is an exceptional opportunity to participate in a dynamic process touching a variety of litigation cases for nationwide clients with strong upside potential.

The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with the following:

• proactively work independently and as part of a team;
• demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills;
• excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills;
• ability to multitask and jump from one transaction to another;
• knowledge of both state and federal court procedures; and
• proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and navigating the internet.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include handling a substantial workload involving the review and management of litiation finance transactions. The following are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to do this job successfully under the direction of a partner:

• understand the litigation process, evaluate case merits, and valuation;
• review drafts, pleadings, motions, orders, discovery, motions and legal memoranda from case matters;
• conduct legal research competently and with proficiency;
• understand mass tort proceedings, discovery, fallouts, marketing strategies;
• review client documents, case evaluations and status report correspondence;
• assist with and participate in investment committe reviews; and,
• interact directly with clients, legal and investment professionals, counsel, colleagues and staff.
